I joined Chime as it was preparing to launch key new fintech products in 2019. During this breakout year, Chime grew from 1.5 million to over 5 million bank accounts, and the design team grew from 4 when I started to 10 by year end. My role in this growth was a focus on design operations and innovation.

Early on, I switched the team to a more modern design and collaboration tool with Figma, proving its utility by comparing its end-to-end workflow against existing tool combinations when designing the initial release of SpotMe, the industry's first free-free overdraft product. I next focused on releasing the first versions of ChimeKit, our design and development system.

After these DesignOps wins, I flexed my product design instincts by iterating on the experience of enrolling, activating and using our first credit card. Through qualitative and quantitative research, we re-framed the Credit Builder Card into something the industry had never seen before – a 0% APR, no fee credit card requiring no credit check which let members build credit safely by letting them pre-fund their credit lines.
